Ion Exchange Based Demineralization System

When both Cation and Anions of dissolved solids in water are exchanged with hydrogen and hydroxyl ions respectively, the pure / demineralized water [H2O] is produced. For regeneration, cation exchanger is charged with hydro chloric acid to restore hydrogen ions and anion exchanger is charged with Sodium hydroxide to restore hydroxyl ions.

Effluent Characteristics

Generally for regeneration of cation an anion exchanger, the regenerant [Hydrochloric Acid and Caustic Soda] quantity is used 30 -40 % extra of actual requirement. By neutralization, the excessive regenerant cause to produce 50-60 % excess, corrosive Nacl salt, in addition to Calcium Magnesium produced during exchange process. Thus effluent become of higher concentration, having corrosive nature.

We provide the exchanger having heavy duty modified design of lateral nozzles with SS perforated pipe enabling equal liquid distribution for efficient regeneration of the latest technology based uniform bead size resin,. The efficient regeneration produce the high purity water and reduce the regenerant quantity almost on schematic regeneration level resulting in economical operation. In case of demineralization, in case of higher alkalinity, or mineral acidity we utilize weak acid cation and weak base anion respectively. To recover residual acid, we make our unit environment friendly too, as it eliminates the drainage of excess effluent water quantity and corrosive salts to reduce the load on ETP which ultimately affects the environment.
